The drive unit developed for the Technics SP10R was specifically designed for use with the Thiele TA01 tonearm. Damping principles used in the Thiele TT01 turntable were largely adopted for this purpose. In particular, the design of the chassis — divided into multiple layers of different materials — was incorporated here. The result is a turntable that is characterized by exceptional stability combined with impressive dynamics.
